Bernice Calhoun

NEWTON – Calhoun, Bernice M., 95, passed away February 28, 2016, at her residence surrounded by family.  She was born February 2, 1921, at Texhoma, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ulysses S. and Linnie Audie (Haynes) Young.  She was a retired Home Health Aide and Therapy Aide.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl L. Calhoun; children:  Ronald and Carlene; and several siblings.  She is survived by her sons:  Gary Calhoun of Corpus Christi, TX; Ira Calhoun of Newton; Michael Calhoun of Corpus Christi, TX; Dale Calhoun of Houston, TX; and James Calhoun of El Dorado; 11 grandchildren and their families; and 3 siblings:  Thomas, Joyce and Nita.  A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Newton.  A private inurnment will be in the Whitewater Cemetery.
