Berylene Louise Brockmeier

Berylene Louise Brockmeier, a lifelong resident of Herington, Kansas, was called to her Heavenly Home in the early morning hours of Saturday, September 20, 2025.Berylene was born to Louis and Beryl Whisler on April 14, 1929 in White City, Kansas, She grew up in Herington, met and married her husband there, and the two of them raised their family on a farm that sat between Hope and Herington. After their children left home, Herbie and Berylene moved to a farm on Trail Road, where they lived together until Herbie passed in 2005. After Herbie was gone, Berylene continued her life on the farm until health issues forced her into a care home in 2022.Berylene lived a very full, fun, loving, happy, productive and music-filled Christian life. She was an active member of the First Christian Church and the Christian Women’s Fellowship. She was a member of the choir for many years and in later life played the piano during church services. Berylene loved playing all kinds of games, especially pitch. Berylene spent many of her days at the Herington Senior Center, playing cards and dominoes. She also loved challenging her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in games of all kinds. Next to time with family and friends, her favorite activity was playing music. She and Herbie played country music for many years here in Herington and all around the state.She will be sorely missed.Berylene was preceded in death by her husband Herbert, her parents Louis and Beryle, her in-laws Henry and Louise Brockmeier, her son-in-law Lowell Rohloff, her brother Gene Whisler, and her nephew Tim Whisler.She is survived by her children Kristy Rohloff of Cheney, Gene (Debbie) Brockmeier of Rose Hill, Phil (Roann) Brockmeier of Hope, and Lovica Logue of Wichita.Berylene is also survived by her ten grandchildren Brian (Holley) Rohloff of Cheney and Shari (Tom) Jenkins of Andover; Gina (Jason) Fornshell, Lisa (Mark) Walker, Kara (Dillon) Dickerson and Jason (Nicole) Fenoglio, all of Wichita; Ryan (Jennifer) Brockmeier of Waco, TX, Tara (Ryan) Albrecht of Montrose, CO and Crysta (Cass) McMahan of Manhattan; and Brandie (Preston) Hammontree of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA.Berylene leaves behind 25 beloved great-grandchildren who filled the last decades of her life with love, renewed energy, joy and laughter.Berylene also leaves behind her sister-in-law Joan White and nephews Brad Whisler of Salina, Kansas and Dan Whisler (Kelly) of Buhler, Kansas and niece Shelly McClaskey of Lawrence, Kansas, along with numerous other family members and friends who she cherished dearly.An evening with family present will be held Wednesday, September 24, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church, 15 S. First, Herington, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at the church Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. with graveside services immediately after. Berylene will be laid to rest beside Herbie at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Herington, Kansas.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, 15 S. First, Herington, Kansas 67449.
