Beverly Marie (Rotrock) Oswald, born on July 8, 1952, to Wayne and Helen (Leeper) Rotrock, in Herington, Kansas, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, in Council Grove, Kansas. She lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, and a genuine commitment to helping those around her.
Beverly graduated from Herington High School in the class of 1970, laying the foundation for a lifetime of service and community involvement. She began her career as the secretary at Oswald Manufacturing, specializing in welding metal fabrications. There, Beverly became well known for her exceptional care and dedication to her customers and colleagues alike. Her compassionate spirit was evident as she provided many individuals with second chances by helping them secure employment at Oswald Manufacturing, assisting them in getting their lives back on track.
Beverly married Merlin Oswald on September 20 1970 in their hometown of Herington, Kansas. Their partnership was one of mutual support and love, with Beverly often accompanying Merlin on various projects and lending a helping hand whenever needed. A cherished memory reflects her good-natured spirit and willingness to get involved: while helping Merlin clean up a cabin he had purchased, she famously fell through the floor while sweeping-an incident that brought laughter and joy to those present.
Outside of work, Beverly treasured her hobbies and interests. She was an avid bowler, participating actively in leagues, and enjoyed gatherings with her card club. She had a deep affection for her dogs and all the exotic animals they raised for years plus pleasure in watching sports, especially March Madness basketball, rooting for the University of Kansas (KU) basketball team, Kansas State University (K-State) football, and the Kansas City Chiefs, sharing these moments with her sister Nancy Wendt and son Sean even though professional sports were not her primary passion.
Beverly's family was central to her life. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Merlin Oswald of Herington, Kansas; her sons Sean (Missy) Oswald of Herington and Chad Oswald of Colorado Springs; her grandchildren Cody (Courtney) Oswald of Herington, Hannah (Trevor Williams) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Brandon Laizure of Council Grove, Kansas, and Marissa Orme of Manhattan; as well as her great-grandchildren Kaira, Manhattan Olivia, Nolan, and Liam, Herington Beverly's extended family includes several nieces and nephews, along with multiple great-great nieces and nephews, all of whom were touched by her warmth and generosity.
She was preceded ni death by her beloved parents and brother-in-law Milton Wendt, whose memories she held dear. She is survived by her sister Nancy Wendt of Chaska, Minnesota and Shirley Parks of Hutchinson, Ks.
