Bruce’s life began on October 28, 1944, in Milwaukee, WI. He was the son of James and Beatrice (Liesch) Trapp. Bruce moved with his family at a young age to Montana where he attended high school and then attended trade school in Milwaukee to become a master electrician. Later, the family moved to California and then on to Las Vegas, NV where he owned and operated his own HVAC and electrical business before moving to Kansas in 1998. He worked as the credit manager for Mid Kansas Co-Op, before retiring. Bruce was united in marriage to Sharon Trapp, who precedes him in death and later married Kathleen Schmidt McQuilliam Trapp on New Year’s Day in 1997. Bruce enjoyed scuba diving, loved all things relating to boats and being on or in the water. He loved the ocean and Lake Mead in Nevada. Bruce also enjoyed taking cruise vacations, especially to the Grand Cayman Islands. He is survived by his wife Kathleen McQuilliam Trapp of Whitewater; his children Brenda (Kirt) Walker of Las Vegas, Jeffrey (Monica Day) Trapp of Las Vegas, Darin (Elise) McQuilliam of Buhler and Sonya (Kelly) Miller of Whitewater; grandchildren Christopher Walker, Cory (Summer) Walker, Madelyn McQuilliam, Jared (Kaylee) McQuilliam, Loren McQuilliam, Blaine (Kristin) Cody, Samuel (Ciara) Miller and Sarah (Stephanie) Morgan; great grandchildren Braxton, Hayden, and Elias; his brother Robert (Sandy) Trapp of WA, brother in law Douglas Bultman of CA and several nieces and nephews. Bruce passed away at his home on Tuesday August 19, 2025. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Sharon Trapp and sister Barbara Trapp. His family will gather with family and friends on Friday August 22, 2025, from 6-8 p.m. at Lamb Funeral Home, Whitewater. Bruce’s celebration of life service will be held on Saturday August 23, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Risen Savior Lutheran Church (34th St) in Wichita. Memorial contributions in Bruce’s name may be directed to Risen Savior Lutheran Church, Victory in the Valley or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
