David W. Silhan, 62 passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro, Kansas.
David was born on November 28, 1963, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Marion, Kansas to Robert and Juanita (Dowell) Silhan. He was one of three sons.
He attended Center High School and graduated in the class of 1982. After completing high school, he attended Salina VoTech and majored in Offset printing. He was employed as a custodian and bus driver for the Marion School District. He also worked for Concrete Products and lastly was employed for 30 plus years for Marion County, driving semitrucks hauling rock, gravel, and pushing snow. He was often requested as the one to spread gravel and rock because of how he did it.
He married Cheryl (Spohn) Silhan on August 25, 1990, at the Pilsen Catholic Church. They enjoyed 28 years of marriage until her death on January 8, 2018.
Those who preceded him in death are his parents; and a brother Jim.
Survivors include his two sons Jeffrey of Marion and Justin (Skylar) Silhan of Hillsboro; brother, Mark Silhan; grandchildren Joshua, Ayden, Wyatt, Logan, and Sophia.
Mass will be held on Saturday, September 12 and the time is pending.
