Dennis E. Dillon, 64 of Hope, Kansas passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026, with his loving family surrounding him. He was born May 12, 1962 in Marion, Kansas. He was one of 8 children of Ralph and Margaret (Biehler) Dillon family.
Dennis graduated from Hope High School in 1980 and continued his education at Kansas State University with a BA in Agronomy in 1984. He was a farmer and former line mechanic at Philips Electronics from 2008-2021. He also worked at Agri Producers in Carlton and Tampa from 1988 -2008. Prior to that he worked at COOPs in Holyrood and Leonardville KS.
He was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church, and served on the parish council and was a member of the choir. Dennis was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and was on the board of Marion County RWD No. 1. He loved Kansas State athletics, especially basketball and football. Dennis loved his nieces and nephews and was quite the gift giver with all the children in the family. He used his skill as a mechanic to keep the farm equipment running and for his hobby of restoring antique tractors. Dennis loved parading them down Dillon Road. He took pride in a job well done. While at Philips Electronics glass plant, it was said that “you didn’t have to worry about the quality of the glass when Dillon made it”.
Those who preceded him in death are his parents, a brother Michael, brother-in-law Lynn Jones and a niece Sara Goddard.
Surviving him are his siblings: Joan Jones of Abilene, Patricia (Doug) McClane of O’Fallon, Il, Greg Dillon of Hope, Doug (Esther) Dillon of Hope, Karen (Johnnie) Goddard of Ellsworth, James Dillon of Abilene; nieces and nephews Jennifer, Amanda, Elizabeth, Andrew, Abigail, Anna, Christina, Kathryn, John and 14 great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 28 at St. Philip Catholic Hall in Hope from 5-7 p.m. with Rosary to follow the visitation. A funeral Mass will be on Monday, June 29 at 10:30 am St. Philip Catholic Church, 114 N. Main, Hope, Kansas 67451, with Father George Chalbhagam presiding.
Memorial contributions in Dennis’ name may be given to St. Philip Catholic Church. Yazel-Megli Funeral Home is serving the family.
