Diana’s life began August 27, 1954, in Marion, Kansas. She was the daughter of Harry and Dorothy (Vogel) Evans. Diana attended Centre School District and graduated class of 1972. After graduation she attended Flint Hills Area Vocational-Technical School in Emporia, KS and graduated with her certificate in Dental Assisting. She worked as a civilian Dental Assistant for 36 years for the US Army in Fort Riley, Kansas.
Diana was united in marriage to Gerald Dittman on December 7, 1974, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lyons Creek. They were blessed with 2 daughters. Diana provided daycare to many local families. She was active in PTA, EHU, was a 4-H leader & a Sunday School teacher. After retirement, Diana liked to snuggle on the couch and watch Hallmark movies.
Diana is survived by her two daughters, Megan (Greg) McPherson of Jacksonville, FL and Erin (Keith) Day of Krum, TX; grandchildren, Tobin & Caitlin Day; her siblings, Charles (Patty) Evans of Topeka, KS, Mary (Mike) Smith of Olathe, KS, and Gary (Becky) Evans of Marion, KS. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Diana is preceded in death by her husband and parents. Diana’s family will have a visitation on Friday, December 26, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Yazel-Megli Funeral Home in Herington, Kansas. A Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 10:00 am at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Lyons Creek in Herington, Kansas. Memorial contributions in Diana’s name may be directed to the Tammy Walker Cancer Center in care of the funeral home.
