Edwin D. Smith

POTWIN - Edwin D. Smith, age 81, passed away Friday, January 6, 2017, at the Golden Living Center of El Dorado, Kansas.  He was born November 11, 1935, in Butler County, Kansas.  He was the son of Wayne and Margie (Prittchet) Smith.  He grew up at Cassoday, and was a graduate of Cassoday High School.  On December 1, 1957, he was united in marriage to Donna Jean Yoakem at El Dorado.  Edwin was a cattle rancher, he worked for ranches in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.  He was the manager of the Myers Ranch near El Dorado from 1960-1967. He is survived by his wife Donna Smith of Potwin; a son Kevin Smith of Potwin; his daughters:  Karen Smith of Potwin, and Karla Smith of Dallas, Texas; a brother Terry Smith of Augusta; sisters: Virginia Kimball of Leon, and Betty Byfield of Derby; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.  Cremation has taken place.  No services are scheduled.
