Evelyn’s life began on January 31, 1929, in Ramona. She was the daughter of Godfrey and Olga (Hoeppner) Schneider, and graduated from Ramona High School. She was united in marriage to James “Fred” Edmonson on January 16, 1949, in Herington. Evelyn worked as an optometric assistant in Herington for many years and for several optometrists. She was a gifted artist. Evelyn painted Christmas ornaments that have hung in the White House, and the Smithsonian Institution. She was a World Champion hardanger stitchery artist. She contributed works to the Kansas Wheathearts, and her paintings have been admired by family and friends alike. She was a loving, devoted wife to her husband of 63 years, and a loving mother and grandmother. Evelyn loved her patio flowers and was a great cook- everything from scratch.
