Glen’s life began on March 13, 1940, in Newton.  He is the son of Joseph L. and Geneiva Thelma (Gaines) Gronau.  Glen grew up on the family farm near Whitewater.  Throughout his life, he was a jack of all trades, carpenter, mechanic, heavy equipment operator, and oilfield mud pump operator.  Western movies, horses, country music, dancing and fishing were his favorite things in life.  He was married to Judith Gronau who precedes him in death.  Glen is survived by his loving companion Linda Ast of Newton; children Kevin (Sharon) Gronau of Arlington, TX, Kenny Gronau of Wichita, Marion Gronau of Newton, and Brenda Jones of Wichita; seven grandchildren; his brother Cline (Judy) Gronau of Newton and sister June Young of Halstead. Glen passed away on Tuesday August 8, 2023, at Paramore Community Living and Rehab in Newton.  He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brothers Joseph and Orin Gronau.  A visitation will be held on Saturday August 12, 2023, from 5-7 p.m. at Lamb Funeral Home, Whitewater.  His graveside service will be held on Sunday August 13, 2023, at 3 p.m. at Pleasant View Cemetery in Elbing.  Please sign his online guestbook and leave a memory of Glen at www.yazelmeglifh.com.
