Janice Diane Pierce was born in December 1938 to her parents Donald and Laura Pierce. She grew up and went to school in Peabody, Kansas in 1956, and attended for a time at Emporia State University. Janice was an animal lover her whole life. She always had pets and helped strays that came along. Janice was an incredible cook and she will be deeply missed forever. Janice married Edwin Robinson from Florence, and they lived on a farm outside of Burns for years with children Jackie, Ed Jr. and Kevin, until they moved to Florence in 1969 and lived in town. Later in life, after a divorce, Jan married Melvin Gradert whom she met while she was working at the appraiser’s office in Marion and he was a District Court judge. They lived in Marion and eventually moved to Newton where she worked for many years at an Edward Jones office. A few years after retirement, they sold their house and moved to Wichita to be near Jackie and Mike who could help them with their needs. Jan leaves behind three children, Jackie (Mike) Sigwing, Ed Jr. (Linda) Robinson, Kevin (Janet) Robinson; and grandchildren Kelly (David) Seume, Jeremy (Katlyn) Robinson, KayCee (Isaac) Hett, Krisde (Trevor) Kruse; and greatgrandchildren Hallie Hind, and Hayden, Henri and Heidi Seume, Kolten, Jaylee, Kenzie and Jentry Robinson, and Karsyn and Taysen Kruse.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Yazel Megli Funeral Home is serving the family. Please sign her online guestbook and leave a memory of Janice at www.yazelmeglifh.com.
