Jean Ann (Jeanie) Schneider, age 79, left this earth on June 19, 2025. She was born on August 6, 1945 and soon after was adopted by Bob and Mary Ellen Roberts. Jeanie was a lifelong resident of Herington, Kansas.
She married the love of her life, Lonnie Schneider on April 15, 1961. Lonnie “LL” was her person. Throughout their more than 64 years together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and adventure. They regularly spent time camping, fishing, and working in the garden – always together. While Lonnie was busy working for the railroad, Jeanie found a passion in nursing. She attended Flint Hills Technical College in Emporia, KS where she became an LPN. Throughout her nursing career she cared for so many people. She formed a special connection with everyone she met and found immeasurable joy in ensuring others were cared for.
Jeanie, a self-proclaimed cat lady, loved warm, sunny days (even going to Texas every Winter to find them), cross-stitch, the Young and the Restless, fireworks, and watching the Royals and Chiefs play. She knew every country song and enjoyed attending concerts with her daughters.
Above everything, Jeanie loved her family. She was blessed with four children: Lynn Schneider, Cindy Biehler (Ron), Michael Schneider (Krista), and Michele Longabaugh (James). Jeanie was a constant source of love, wisdom, and support to her children, who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts. Becoming a grandmother was one of the greatest joys of her life. She never missed a chance to cheer them on, spoil them, or tell them how much she loved them. Grandma Jeanie will lovingly be remembered by each of them: Ashlee Tomasic (Ian), Chandler Kickhaefer (Nate), Ashlynn Arellano (Anthony), Matthew Longabaugh, Jordan Longabaugh, Jake Longabaugh, Preston Schneider, Kinley Clinkscale, and Tate Schneider; plus great-grandchildren Lucas and Henry Tomasic, Delaney and Levi Kickhaefer, Paisley Biehler and Ava Arellano.
Jeanie is now enjoying eternal sunshine and beautiful lake weather with her two beautiful daughters, Lynn and Michele.
