Marilyn’s life began on January 23, 1946, in Wichita, KS.  She is the daughter of William and Neva (Slough) Bonnett.  Marilyn was united in marriage to Ronald Brown on July 1, 1972, in Wichita.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Ambassador College in Big Sandy, TX. 

 

She spent the majority of her working career as an executive secretary at Beechcraft in Wichita.  Marilyn later worked as a licensed Realtor for over a decade. She was a Certified Commercial Pilot with an Instrument Rating and also enjoyed cooking, gardening, and travel. 

 

Marilyn’s greatest joy was her family which includes her husband of fifty years Ronald Brown of Potwin, KS, sons Steve (Jennifer) Brown of Owasso, OK and David (Kim) Brown of Bentonville, AR; grandchildren Bailey, Bradley, Caitlin and Cameron Brown and her sister Donna (Bill) Freeland of Lenexa, KS. 

 

Marilyn passed away on Wednesday January 18, 2023, at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.  She is preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers Leland Bonnett and Bob Bonnett. 

 

The family is planning a celebration of life that will be held at the Potwin Community Center on February 4 at 2:00 PM.  She will be laid to rest in Virgil Cemetery in Virgil, KS.  Lamb Funeral Home, Whitewater is serving the family.  Please sign her online guestbook and leave a memory of Marilyn at www.yazelmeglifh.com.
