Mitchell Henry Day

Mitchell’s life began on May 19, 1994, in Council Grove, Kansas.  From the time he was 9 months old and could stand on his own, he had a ball in his hand.  He was athletic and loved baseball, football, soccer, track, and wrestling.  His love of dirt bikes started at a very young age.  He was told that he couldn’t have a dirt bike until he could ride his bicycle without training wheels. He proceeded to remove the wheels himself and learned to ride without them the same day.  He started skateboarding when the board wasn’t much smaller than he was.  He thoroughly enjoyed taking off the wheels, trucks, bearings and changing the grip tape and then putting it all back together.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and anything outside.  Mitchell loved music of all kinds and loved to sing.

He is survived by Ashton Day and children Myleigh Grace and Maverick Lee-Ryan of McPherson; his mother Ruth (Galen) Chizek of Marion; brothers Michael Anderson of Houston and Markus (Cassie) Anderson of Galva; sister Megan Chizek of Peabody; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends from the Omega Project.

He was preceded in death by his dad Danny Day; his grandparents Rose and John Lee and Alberta and Vernon (Hank) Day of Council Grove.

Mitchell passed from this earth on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Wesley Medical Center.  His family invites you to join them for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 19^th from 11am to 2pm at The Yard, 108 West 2^nd St., Galva, KS.  A meal will be provided.  Memorial Contributions will go to The Omega Project in Mitchell’s name and can be sent to Yazel-Megli Funeral Home, 205 Elm St., Marion, KS  66861, or Ruth Chizek, 7 Cherry St., Marion, KS  66861.
