Nadine Koegeboehn, 91, of Sedgwick, KS passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Azria Assisted Living in Wichita, KS. She was surrounded by family throughout her final days and hours.
Nadine was born March 29, 1932 to Merl and Leta (Brandt) Brewer. She graduated from Peabody High School (Class of 1950). Nadine worked as a telephone switchboard operator. She married Raymond Koegeboehn on November 28, 1954 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Elk Township. After they were married, Nadine joined Ray at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas. In 1957, they returned to farming along Middle Creek near Elmdale, KS where they raised 3 children in love and knowing Christ. They retired from farming in 2000 and moved to Marion for 15 years before moving to Sedgwick.
Nadine was a longtime member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. Nadine and Ray enjoyed traveling and visiting friends and family. They loved spending time with their children and grandchildren. Nadine also enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, canning, and hosting gatherings for friends and family. These gatherings often included playing Pinochle, Pitch, Pins & Jokers, or other games.
Nadine was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brothers Bob, Melvin, Keith, and Jim; and her sister, Opal Walker. She is survived by daughters, Debbie (Lyle) Heggemeier of Des Moines, IA and Kathy Cline of Wichita, KS; by son, Gary (Lucy) of San Antonio, TX; and by 2 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, and 2 great-grandchildren and many extended family members.
Visitation with family will be held on Sunday, December 17 at 3-5pm at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Marion, KS. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 18 at 11am at Our Savior Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church. Condolences may be left at yazelmeglifh.com to share with the family.
