It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of Nathan Noel Neville Smith, 50 of Derby, Kansas, who traded this world for his ultimate continued screen on Jun 7, 2026. A true kid at heart, he was known for his boundless imagination, his love for " The Most Magical Place on Earth," and his legendary high scores.
Born in Wichita, Kansas to Vivian and Dan Smith on October 26, 1975.
Nathan possessed a vibrant playful spirit that drew people to him. He approached life with the same wonders as a first time visitor to the Magic Kingdom and the strategic mind of a dedicated gamer. Whether he was navigating the digital world of his favorite games, collecting Kingdom Hearts memorabilia, or proudly wearing his favorite Mickey Mouse ears. Nathan believed that the best moments in life were meant to be fun, shared and celebrated.
Nathan graduated from Remington high school where he excelled in debate, forensics, and scholars bowl.
Above all his greatest adventure was being a father. He shared the love for Disney magic and gaming with his children, creating a home filled with laughter, friendly competition and unconditional love.
He was the ultimate player for his kids, a patient teacher, and the families reining champion of Call of Duty and Pitch. He taught his children to face every boss battle in life with courage, to never lose their sense of wonder, and that the "good ending" is always worth fighting for. Nathan will be dearly missed and is survived by his loving children, Billy Smith of the home, Toby Smith, of Derby, Cody Smith, of Derby; His mother Vivian Smith of Furley, His brother Jason, (Sarah) Smith of Whitewater; his sister Danielle (Kent) Dodds of Andover and his niece and nephews, Amanda Dodds, Jason Smith Jr., and Darron Amon. He is preceded in death by his loving and caring father Dan Smith.
