Paul Whiteside, 86, of El Dorado, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, December 18. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21 at McGill Cemetery, Potwin, Kansas. Paul graduated from Potwin High School in 1954. In December of 1954, he enlisted in the US Army and was on the baseball team for the 2nd Infantry Division Artillery. Paul was discharged in 1956 and then began his career as a pipefitter. Paul was an avid fisherman, coyote hunter and Boston Red Sox fan. Those who survive include his siblings: brother Lewis Whiteside, Potwin; Phyllis Olsen, Elgin, Illinois; Roger Whiteside and wife Sherie, Thornton, Colorado; Kenneth Whiteside, Harrodsburg, Kentucky; grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. He is proceeded in death by parents: John and Violet (Wallace) Whiteside; siblings: Dale Whiteside, Joe Whiteside, Norman Whiteside and Virginia Price.
