Richard S. Bisby

HERINGTON -  Richard S. Bisby, age 90, of Clinton, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at his home, following a long illness.

Richard was born January 2, 1928, to Sherman M. Bisby and Frances M. ‘Fannie’ Schump Bisby of Herington, Kansas.  Richard was a graduate of St. John’s Catholic Grade School. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.  In 1952, he married Anne M. Reisig and they had two children.

Richard worked for the Rock Island and Burlington Northern Railroads in Herington until his retirement.  He was a lifelong Heringtonite until the death of his wife, Anne.  In 1989, he moved to the Truman Lake area.  He married Doris Brewer in 1995.  He and Doris enjoyed the rural lifestyle until his death.

Richard is survived by his spouse, Doris; two children, Nancy and Bruce (Vicki); eight grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; one brother, Dennis (Pam); and his constant companion, Buddy, a Jack Russell terrier.

Memorial graveside service will be Saturday, July 7, 2018, at 10:00 am at the St. John Catholic Cemetery.  Celebration of Life and luncheon will follow at the St. John Catholic Parish Hall.
