Sharon Kay Morrisey

Sharon’s life began on August 3, 1941, in McWhinnieville, KS.  She is the daughter of Andrew John and Thelma Marie (Clore) Biehler.  Sharon was a graduate of Herington High School in 1959 and also a graduate of Webster College in St. Louis and attended Kansas State University.

Sharon was united in marriage to John Douglas Morrisey on June 22, 1963, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Herington.  She worked for several businesses in her career.  Sharon worked for General Motors, she also worked as a legal secretary, and a jeweler in Topeka.

She is survived by her children Gerald Morrisey of Hutchinson, and Clare Morrisey of Lockhart, Texas; siblings John (Susan) Biehler, Vincent (Cindy) Biehler, Catherine Jane Biehler,  Thomas (Kathy) Biehler, Brian (Jeanie) Biehler, and Carol (Marvin) Tajchman.

 Sharon passed away on Friday October 13, 2023, at Newman Regional Health in Emporia.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Doug in 2017, and sister and brother-in-law Linda and Don Dix.

  Her family will gather with friends on Tuesday October 17, 2023, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church with a Rosary service beginning at 10:30 a.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.  She will be laid to rest in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Herington at a later date.  Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Herington is serving the family.  Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to Street Cats Club of Emporia.  Please sign her online guestbook and leave a memory of Sharon at www.yazelmeglifh.com.
