Wanda’s life began on July 2, 1931, in Newton, Kansas. She was the daughter of Charles and Lela (Titus) Murphy. Wanda was a 1948 graduate of Sedgwick High School. She was united in marriage to Billy Joe Graham on September 25, 1949, in Sedgwick. Wanda worked throughout her life including being a school bus driver and running the “Our Place” restaurant in Whitewater with two of her friends. She enjoyed square dancing with Billy Joe, quilting, crocheting, sewing, gardening, and bird watching. Wanda was an avid reader and a great cook. She was a member of the Federated Church in Whitewater and helped serve funeral dinners. Wanda and Bill enjoyed camping and travelling to see out of state family. Family was very important to Wanda and she is survived by her children Steve Graham of Caldwell, ID, Carol (Duane) Stucky of Moundridge, Lynn Graham-Newfer of Whitewater and Mary (Sheldon) Thompson of Whitewater; grandchildren Crystal Graham, Adrianna Stucky, Luke Stucky, Clarissa Thompson, Nicholas Newfer, Lowell Thompson, Chris Thompson, and Tony Thompson; several great grandchildren, daughter in law Kathleen Graham of Saratoga, NY, sisters in law Sandy Murphy of Dallas, TX and Sarah Murphy of Newton, and numerous nieces and nephews. Wanda passed away on Monday May 5, 2025, at Newton Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Billy Joe, children Jim Graham, Diana Graham, and Bryan Graham; brothers Robert and Dale Murphy, sister Virginia Diggs and granddaughter Holly Newfer. Her family will gather with friends on Saturday June 7, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Federated Church for her memorial service. She will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.
