Elizabeth Lena Scheffel

July 24, 1927 — June 17, 2019

Elizabeth Lena Scheffel was born July 24, 1927, in Stockton, California, to Edwyn and Emily (Farnsworth) Meyn.  She departed this life June 17, 2019, at the Legacy of Herington, Kansas. Elizabeth lived the majority of her life in California.  She grew up in the Stockton, California area.  She was a high school graduate.  After high school she went to cosmetology school and worked in her own shop as a beautician.  When she married Archie Scheffel, she retired from the beauty shop.  They had two children, John and Ellen.  They raised these children in the country near Stockton.  She was a member of the United Brethren in Christ Church.  Her favorite pass time was reading. 

In her later years Elizabeth would make yearly visits to Herington to be with her daughter, Ellen, and family.  She would attend the family functions and go to the grandsons events. In the first part of 2015, her health began declining. She moved to the Legacy of Herington to be near Ellen’s family. 

Preceding her in death, daughter, Ellen Granzow on May 30, 2017; son, John Scheffel; sister, Alice Meyn; husband, Archie Scheffel; and her parents. 

Elizabeth is survived by seven grandchildren, Scott and C. J. Scheffel, Dale and James Mulderrig, Billy, Jacob, and Kyle Granzow; and son-in-law, Rick Granzow. 

Cremation is planned with burial in the California cemetery next to her husband.
