Lisa Wilburn

Council Grove - Lisa Ann Wilburn, 58, of Council Grove, Kansas, passed away Sunday May 5, 2019 at Morris County Hospital, after a 5-and-a-half-year courageous battle with cancer.

She was born December 9, 1960 in Council Grove to Wayne and Donna Hayes. She graduated from Council Grove High School and attended Crum’s Beauty School. She was employed by Eric Nelson at Neosho Gardens for over 25 years.

Lisa enjoyed camping, casinos, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was proceeded in death by her father, Wayne Hayes, mother in law, Mary Vliet-Zerbe, and sister in law, Cindy Nelson.

She is survived by her husband, Larry, her mother, Donna Hayes; daughter, Erin Erichsen and Matt, daughter, Erica Effland and Kaleb, and daughter, Larisa Wilburn. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Brylee, Hudson, and Harrison Erichsen, and Quinn Effland; brothers, Brad Hayes (Kristie) and Michael Hayes (Gina); sister in law, Renee; and many nieces and nephews.

Lisa’s family invites close friends and family to join them at 11:00 am Thursday, prior to the service for a luncheon.

A celebration of Lisa’s life will be held Thursday, May 9th 2019 at the United Methodist Church of Council Grove/Dunlap at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Sunny Slope Cemetery.

A special thank you to Dr. Lora Siegle, Dr. Eric Carlson, and her many caregivers who helped her throughout her cancer journey. Lisa never fought alone.
