Betty Lou Ohm

March 16, 1933 — April 21, 2018

RAMONA - Betty Lou Ohm, formerly of Ramona, departed this life, Saturday, April 21st, 2018, at her home in Platte City, MO.  She was born March 16th, 1933, at Herington.  She was the daughter of Joe E. and Marjorie (McCully) Davis.

She was married to Harold Ohm on April 3, 1952, at the First Christian Church of Herington. He preceded her in death July 27, 2010.  She is preceded in death by her mother Margie Davis, on August 11, 1990, and her father Joe Davis.

She and her husband, Harold, owned and operated Ohm’s Café in Ramona for 48 years.  They were farmers, too.  She loved to plant and garden and watch it grow.  She was known for the best cheeseburgers and french fries, and her home cooked meals.  After retiring from the café, she worked part- time several years at the post office.  She moved to Platte City, MO, in 2014 to do what was the most important to her and that was her time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  The family vacations were so much fun.  She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Ramona.  She graduated from Herington High School with the class of 1951.

She is survived by three daughters, Brenda Heuton (Steve) of Panora, IA, Jacqueline Richardson (Brad) of Platte City, MO, JoAnn Reicher (Paul) of Hubertus, WI; two brothers, Jerry Davis (Joan) of Herington, Jim Davis (Elsie) of Kansas City, KS; seven grandchildren, Craig and Chad Heuton, Randy and Danny Reicher, Jordan, Justin, and Devin Richardson; and 10 great grandchildren, Hannah, Henry, Hattie, Greenlee, Levi, and Noah Heuton, Danielle, Matthew, Sean, and Kourtney Reicher. 

Funeral services will be, 11:00 am, Saturday, April 28th, 2018, at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Ramona, with Rev. Clark Davis, officiating.  Burial will follow at the Lewis Cemetery of Ramona.  Family will receive friends Friday evening, April 27th, 2018, 5:30 – 7:30 pm, at the Zeiner Funeral Home-Herington.

In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to the Trinity Lutheran Church of Ramona or the Platte County Senior Center of Platte City, MO; and may be sent to the Zeiner Funeral Home at 404 S. Broadway, Herington, KS, 67449-3038.
