Rebecca Ann Hargrove

Rebecca’s life began on Thursday, March 29, 1951.  She was born in Strong City and brought home to Cedar Point, Kansas where she spent the first five months of her life.  She was the daughter of William and Betty (Williams) Pinkston.  Rebecca was united in marriage to Robert Hargrove on Sunday, October 21, 1973, in Wichita, Kansas.  She was an Elementary and Secondary Education teacher in the Seventh-Day Adventist and public school educational systems in Arkansas, Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico.  In her younger years she loved to travel, learn languages and was well known for being a wordsmith.  Rebecca was devoted to her church and always worked in the children's department, instilling and instructing the next generation in her faith.  She was musical and loved playing the piano at home and church.  Rebecca enjoyed  watching birds, floral arranging, and decorating her home to be inviting.  Spending time with family and grandchildren, reading her Bible and looking for ways to be of service in her community were especially important to her.  Most of all Rebecca loved Jesus and endeavored to show His love through simple kindness and small gifts such as numerous birthday cards and plates of cookies shared with neighbors on their birthdays.  Rebecca is survived by her husband of 48 years, Robert Hargrove of Cedar Point; children Jenny (Mike McCormick) Hargrove, M.D. of Durango, CO, Robert (Tara) Hargrove of Angwin, CA, and Tobias (Erin) Hargrove of Andover, KS; grandchildren Caleb, Katelyn, Jaiden, Scarlett, Albrey, Ryder and Huxley; siblings Ruth Rippel, James Pinkston, Jeannie Cox, and John Pinkston. Rebecca’s family will gather with friends at the El Dorado Seventh-Day Adventist Church (660 Village Rd. El Dorado, KS 67042) at 1:00 on Wednesday, March 9^th for her funeral service. She will be laid to rest in Cedar Point Cemetery, Cedar Point, KS following the service. Yazel Megli Funeral Home is serving the family.
