Council Grove - Sigrid Renate Lacey, 55, of Council Grove, Kansas passed away at her home, on October 12, 2017.

Sigrid was born November 2, 1961 in Obernau, Germany to Elizabetha Reiss. Sigrid moved to the United States in 1975 and attended Manhattan High School. She married Steven Lacey on July 11, 1989 in Manhattan, KS. They had two daughters, Nicole Renate Lacey and Elizabeth Evelyn Lacey. 

Sigrid attended Manhattan Vocational College in 1991 and then later graduated with honors in 1993. She worked for multiple auto body shops in the Manhattan area, until they moved to Council Grove in 1996. She was employed for almost 8 years by Axe Equipment, painting heavy machinery. She began working for Council Grove Healthcare as supervisor of housekeeping, until she was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2012.

She also helped with all aspects of the family business, RoboLite. Sigrid truly enjoyed helping others. The happiest moments in her life were when she became a grandmother. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and watching her grandchildren play.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabetha Reiss.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years Steven Lacey of Council Grove; her daughters, Nicole Lacey, of Council Grove and Elizabeth Switzer and husband Dillon Switzer, of Dwight; her two grandchildren Emerson and Charlotte Switzer, of Dwight; and her sister Petra, husband Bendt and son Daniel Leitenberger, of Hosbach, Germany.

As requested by Sigrid, there will be no services.  Condolences may be sent to Steven Lacey, 804 Hockaday, Council Grove, KS 66846.
