Anita June Weber

June 22, 1929 — January 4, 2021

Anita's life began on Jun 22, 1929 in Marion.  She was the daughter of Jonah and Elma A. (Siebert) Seifert.  Anita was a graduate of Marion High School and attended two summer sessions at Kansas State Teachers College for her teaching certificate.  She was united in marriage to Virgil Weber on May 12, 1949 at Strassburg Baptist Church near Marion.  Anita owned and operated Anita's Beauty Salon for nearly 60 years in Marion.  She also taught in the one room Morningstar schoolhouse before she was married.  After she and Virgil were married, she worked at the ASC office in Marion and for JCPenney department store, but her heart was really set on taking care of her clients at her salon and at St. Luke's Living Center.  Anita was a faithful member of the Strassburg Baptist Church and was active with the women's fellowship group.  She was the last charter member of the Wednesday night bowling league at the Marion bowling alley now called Sher-Bowl Lanes and bowled her last league night a few weeks ago.  Anita also sang with the Flinthills Women’s Barbershop Chorus for several years.  She was never idle and always had something to do.  Her greatest joy was her family which includes her children Kathy (Jim) Thomas of Hutchinson, Diane (Gary) Bolton of Council Grove, and Ron (Sharon) Weber of Hutchinson; grandchildren Chris (Sarah) Bolton of Manhattan, Cassie (Matt) Rizzo of Center, TX, Scott Weber of Dallas, TX, and Hannah (Corey) Harp of Salina; brother Dennis Seifert of Topeka and several nieces and nephews.  Anita passed away on Monday January 4, 2021 at Newton Medical Center.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings Vernetta Dunn and Faith Skibbe.   Friends are welcome to visit on Sunday, January 10 from 2-5 p.m. at the Yazel- Megli Funeral Home, Marion.  She will be laid to rest in Marion Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 11 and her funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Strassburg Baptist Church.  Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to Strassburg Baptist Church.  Please sign her online guestbook and leave a memory of Anita at www.ymzfh.com.
