Derrel R. Dye

MARION - Derrel R. Dye, age 76, passed away September 6, 2016, in Marion, Kansas, as a result of a fall.  He was born April 22, 1940, in Red Oak, Oklahoma, the son of Leslie Turner and Ora Mae (Knight) Dye.  He spent his working career serving our country with the United States Army. He was a Vietnam War veteran. On November 16, 1973, he was united in marriage to Gabriele Rolf in Berlin, Germany.  After spending some time in California, they would settle in Kansas.  He was preceded in death by his eldest son Richard Dye and his parents.  He is survived by his wife, Gabriele Dye of Marion; three children:  Felicitas Dye of Los Angeles, California; Patrick Dye and his wife Sarah of Marion; and Jameson Dye of Marion; a sister Dorothy Baker of California; and 6 grandchildren.  A Memorial Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 12, 2016, at the Marion Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made the donor's choice in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm, Marion, KS, 66861. Online Condolences may be left at:  www.zeinerfuneralhomes.com.
